The Rung'eto Co-op was founded all the way back in 1953 and is made up of over 3,500 smallholder farmers. They are certainly no stranger to producing high quality lots and continue to grow and improve their practices for long term sustainability and quality. This coffee comes from 1 of 3 factories owned by the co-op, Karimikui.
Kenyan coffees are well known for their bright, fruity characteristics and higher clarity - all things which this lot has in abundance! Pink fruits, prominent florals and a lovely winey quality come together for a super pleasant cup.
The aroma of the bean was amazing, chosing the wrong brewing method did a great disservice to the enjoyment experience. I used the Jura bean to cup machine and unfortunatey did not extract the full potential of the bean. I think this will be great as a cold brew or using the pour over method of brewing
