Producer Info

Kiriyama Hill is a hill neighbouring the Karambo Washing Station that was established in 2021 by TIB. Karambo rapidly expanded its operations in just one year, more than doubling its processing capacity from two to seven containers of exportable coffee from '21 to '22. Located on Karambo Hill in Muyinga District, Burundi, the station benefits from ideal drying conditions and a high-altitude range of 1500–1700 MASL, enhancing coffee quality. Muyinga, historically known for its tourism and mineral wealth, is now emerging as a key region for specialty coffee production, alongside Kayanza. With a strong focus on improving processing techniques and overall operations, Karambo's growth directly increases profitability for the producers it sources from, strengthening its long-term impact on the local coffee industry. Washed coffees are fermented for around 12 hours and dried for an average of 20 days depending on the climate.
